  Dirt Fishing - Latest Coin Finds

  it's that time of year again when i can get back on the fields with the metal detector looking for ancient stuff.

  the first field to be harvested was full of peas - ideal as it leaves no stubble and it's a two minute walk from my house.

  it has given up two coins in two visits this week.. the first one is a cut-half silver penny from the reign of henry ii.

  during my time in the cult i sometimes sat during a talk thinking why on earth are they talking about topics like this with kids in the audience.

  talking about sex and masturbation was probably the worst one i heard and my daughter was only 5 at the time.. what inappropriate talks or comments have you heard over the years that children should not be exposed to really?.

  Their views on oral and anal sex were ridiculous. I can t remember having to sit through a talk on those thankfully. I'd have left the room with my daughter if there'd been a talk about them

  I got a shock at an assembly when she was 9 coz she was taking notes and had written 'stay away from gay men coz they're going to die' and 'sex is bad'. She even wrote a list once of the worldly people that she knew that were going to die at Armageddon. I was horrified

  Forgiveness

  if someone does the same things over and over again and says sorry and then does it again and you point out that their apologies don't mean anything anymore, then they accuse you of not being forgiving enough, who is in the wrong?

  (i mean as in constantly over a long period of time).

  im trying to work out whether it was just part of the persons mental/ emotional manipulation tactics or whether i have the wrong view and i'm not forgiving enough.

  They expected forgiveness from me and said I wasn't being Christian when I eventually said sorry means nothing if you carry on the act. If I ever made a mistake by saying something wrong though they played hell with me for days about it until they lost interest in the situation. They literally sucked the life out of me.

  The one good thing is coz I was was drained by them mentally and emotionally it also drained me spiritually and helped me wake up from the cult so I'm grateful to them for that. I've cut the person off from my life now and I'm so happy but their words about me not being forgiving enough still linger in my head coz I certainly don't want to drag any big issues into another relationship if I meet someone.

  Maybe my jw version of my conscience being in overdrive always looking for fault with myself all the time hasn't settled completely yet. They had a great way of making you feel guilty even for the slightest thing

  The person was literally sucking the life out of me and had me exhausted from dealing with them. I've never felt that way off anyone else I've been around.

  I've had disagreements with other people over the years or made mistakes or they've made mistakes and I'm still great friends with them and everything was forgiven and forgotten. Its just this 1 person, they don't have any close friends and seem to find fault with everyone else and although they say they admit their mistakes and not many people do, they repeat the same mistakes over and over and expect forgiveness just coz they say sorry

  What is the current pulse in the organization with the reductions?

  i have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.

  it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.

  congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

  Has anyone been to the cart witnessing training class at their kingdom hall? No one was allowed to do the cart unless they'd been trained by the elder in charge of field service.

  Pathetic you have to have a lecture on how to stand still and smile for 2-3 hours. There was a bit about being appropriately dressed which most jdubs would be anyway. Was a boring waste of an hour of my life
